Ryan Reynolds promised updates, and here they are. Just last week, he confirmed that, after much fan speculation, Deadpool 3 would be Directed by Free Guy, Real Steel, The Adams project, Director Shawn Levy. Well, now he has given us even more news.
Ryan Reynolds told Forbes, while talking about his companies, that his Production Company Maximum Effort “will be a part of the producing team” for Deadpool 3. This will mark the first time that a Disney-distributed Marvel Studios movie will be made in partnership with another producing company. The company was actually co-founded by Reynolds after his experiences marketing the first Deadpool movie. Deadpool 2 was also co-produced by Maximum Effort. This will also be the first Marvel Studios-produced movie to be R-rated, as confirmed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Fiege.
We currently don’t have an official release date from Marvel, but we do have a few announced release dates with no associated projects for 2024. I believe Deadpool 3 could take the February 16th, 2024 spot as that would be Valentine’s weekend and could see Deadpool returning to its roots as a valentines day movie, like the first Deadpool in 2016.
Ryan Reynolds has given us more information on Deadpool 3 for the second consecutive week, so who’s to say he won’t give us something else next week. Stay tuned and make sure to follow @CineGeekNews on Twitter to get all the latest and greatest news from The Marvel Universe.
